Joseph's wide-ranging trial experience includes the defense and prosecution of complex matters including business and commercial torts, personal injury, contractual disputes, fraud, and securities claims. A business owner himself, Joseph is "the entrepreneur's lawyer." He regularly advises business owners on a wide variety of topics including corporate structuring and organization, corporate transactions, strategic alliances, and protection of business ownership. Joseph also maintains an active military law practice. He's represented dozens of service members before courts-martial and administrative separation boards. Most recently, he attained an acquittal for 1stLt Andrew Grayson in the highly publicized Haditha incident. Prior to starting CLG, Joseph was a litigation attorney for the national firm of McKenna, Long & Aldridge LLP where he defended various Fortune 500 companies in complex matters including wage and hour class action employment litigation. Just before leaving McKenna to launch CLG, Joseph assisted in the defense of a local mortgage lender against an SEC action and obtained favorable results for the client after a multi-day trial. Joseph has also served as a prosecutor for the Navy Judge Advocate General's Corps (JAG). As a JAG, he prosecuted cases involving serious assaults, narcotics, child exploitation, computer crime, white-collar crime, and complex National Security cases. Joseph's litigation experience also includes a thorough understanding of military administrative separations proceedings. During his tour of duty as a Navy JAG, he also served as a military justice advisor for large commands such as Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command (SPAWAR). Joseph has also taught courses on Evidence and Trial Advocacy as an Adjunct Professor at Thomas Jefferson School of Law.
